SOTERN RESTAURANT

For this significant project we were lucky to get a stunning location at the foot of the mountains at a popular ski resort. The Clients are engaged in a wholesale wine business so it's no surprise that the Sotern restaurant offers a bigger wine list than the menu itself. While thinking about the ascetic nature of the winter season on the resort, we decided to bring it indoors and represent in the interior. The key accent of the space is on a ‘spilled red wine’ aesthetic flooring of the covered terrace.

The main interior line is minimalistic, so we played with different textures: brushed wood and marble, which had been processed with strong water pressure to expose its veins. We also designed all the interior furnishing, including the lights and furniture, to be complemented by finely tuned ambient lighting which created a cosy atmosphere on cold winter evenings.
